Jaglion Press is owned and operated by an author who currently writes as Mel Dunay.
She writes plot-first fantasy and science fiction, where the characters fight tyrants and other monsters, escape murder charges and slavery, and occasionally save civilization as they know it. While they’re having these adventures, they also forge strong emotional connections with their comrades. But they come from cultures that do not treat physical intimacy lightly, and with all that danger around, they usually don’t have time for it anyway. If you like a little humor, a little romance, lots of adventure, and no explicit content, welcome! You’ve come to the right place. Mel writes for readers who want adventure that never gets sidelined by the love story, and meaningful romantic subplots without explicit content.
She’s traveled all over the world, but now she lives in the American Midwest with her extended family. She has no cats, only a vacuum robot named Minnie, who probably would not play nicely with the feline species. Her hobbies include film editing, bookbinding, and finding writer support tasks for AI — including the occasional piece of AI-assisted fanfiction, posted free on this site. See Fanficcing with Claude for the ongoing projects.
If the books published through Jaglion Press were movies, they would be rated PG or a very “soft” PG-13 for fantasy violence. At this time, Jaglion Press is not in a position to publish works by other authors. Notable publications include:
Gaslamp Fantasy: The Hunter Healer King Trilogy — plus a prequel currently in progress, targeting a late 2026 release.
Space Opera: The Star Master Duology — plus Pride and Planetoids, a Pride and Prejudice retelling set in the Kuiper Belt, launching May 2026.
India-influenced Adventure Fantasy: The Jaiya Series (three books with different but related protagonists) · The Ancestors of Jaiya Series (four books with different but related protagonists).
